Marjory Saklou, Tina Pratt and Janet Turini showed the projects they made at the Carol Taylor workshop last month.

Margaret Erickson
presented two quilts. The first, entitled Harvest Star, was quilted by
Brenda Booth. Margaret said that she started the quilt in the Debbie Maddy workshop,
choosing batik fabrics in the colors of fall because she misses having a real fall season in Texas. The workshop was a lot of fun, and the pattern was easy to follow, and it has no Y-seams.

Margaret Erickson’s second quilt, entitled Firestorm, was quilted by Mary Burrell. She said the quilt is made with 2 blocks, all half-square triangles.
She chose the colors for her son, and the quilt is a Christmas present for her.

Marylee Toensfeldt presented her quilt, entitled Holiday Star which she handquilted. She attended Debbie Maddy’s program last summer and bought the book entitled “Simple Stars,
Beautiful Quilts”. She pieced this quilt in one day and made it for a dear
friend’s birthday. Debbie’s instructions were easy to follow. She would make it again and recommend it as a quick project.

Paula Byrd presented a tablerunner entitled Poinsettia and Pine which she quilted. The pattern is from the December 2007 issue of the American Patchwork & Quilting magazine.

Darsie Gillum presented a wall hanging entitled Let’s Talk Turkey which she quilted. It was pieced, machine appliquéd and machine quilted. The
fabrics are from the Moda line “Fall Back in Time.”

Stephanie Reubin
presented her quilt, entitled Ann Marie’s T-Shirt Quilt #2 which was quilted by Tammy Minnich. The t-shirts were from Ann Marie’s school days – Middle School, High School, Texas A&M University and Graduate
School at Olkahoma
State University.
