COMMUNITY OUTREACH
July 2006. Lish and I headed out this morning with 100 quilts and 50 bears,
the toiletries and pillows. Our first stop was the VA hospital. While standing on the sidewalk with
the sidewalk with the quilts I was approached twice asking are those quilts, and can I buy one?! I explained what
they were and what they were for, and still, they asked, well, can't I buy just one?
Several other people asked what they were for, and when I told them, they thanked
me (us.) Inside the lobby, we were approached by several others, and the volunteer coordinator told them she had
to count them and they could come get one later.
